2-11 Alarm fire and a Level 1 Hazmat, 9-8-22

The Chicago Fire Department (CFD) responded to a fire at 7934 S. Hoyne Ave. Upon arrival, crews discovered a large single-story commercial building measuring 50x150 feet with heavy fire visible. The fire was quickly contained, and a Level 1 Hazardous Materials response was initiated as a precaution. Multiple explosions occurred, leading to a partial roof collapse. At the height of the incident, six master streams were in operation, including two tower ladders, two deck guns, one snorkel, and one Blitz unit.
