Top 100 logistics companies recommend Dachai products as energy-saving engines
On November 22, 2005, during the China Logistics Transportation Vehicle Evaluation Awards Conference, FAW Jiefang Dachai's CA6DE series became the only domestic engine product to be recommended as an energy-saving model by the top 100 logistics companies in China. This recognition marked a significant milestone for Chinese automotive manufacturers in the logistics sector.
As one of the most critical components of China’s transportation system, automobile logistics has long faced challenges in communication between logistics companies and vehicle manufacturers. This gap has hindered the development of both the logistics and transportation industries. To address this issue, the first "China Logistics Transportation Vehicle Survey and Selection Campaign" was launched in 2005, organized by the China Communications and Transportation Association, the China Automotive Engineering Society, and the Economic Reference Newspaper. The initiative aimed to assess the current state of specialized vehicles used in logistics and guide the development of the transportation vehicle manufacturing industry. By aligning the needs of logistics enterprises with the production side, it helped shape the future of China's logistics transportation standards.
During the campaign, over 100 models from more than 20 major automakers—including FAW Trading and Dongfeng Motor—were evaluated by the country's top 100 logistics companies. Provincial and municipal transportation authorities also conducted local assessments. In the end, the winning vehicles were primarily van trucks and tractors. Among them, FAW Jiefang Dachai's CA6DE series stood out as the only energy-saving engine selected in the event.
The CA6DE series is the result of more than 50 years of diesel engine design and production experience by Dachai. Developed in collaboration with FAW's Technology Center, it features independent intellectual property rights. It has become a preferred choice for FAW in producing medium and quasi-heavy trucks, offering excellent cost-performance and significant energy-saving benefits. Its success reflects not only technological advancement but also a growing alignment between Chinese manufacturers and the evolving demands of the logistics industry.
