Successful delivery of 2,500 tons of duplex stainless steel steel plates for the world's largest chemical shipbuilding ship

Recently, Daming Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. processed 2,500 tons of duplex stainless steel steel plates for the world's largest tonnage of 49,000 tons of chemical shipbuilding vessels, and delivered them smoothly. This is also the first time that duplex stainless steel has been applied to 49,000 tons of chemical tankers, marking that China's duplex stainless steel manufacturing technology has successfully ranked among the world's first in terms of breaking foreign monopoly.

The shipboard materials involved in the project are the world's highest-grade marine duplex stainless steel plates. Except for corrosion resistance, mechanics and welding, the upper and lower surface roughness are required to be within 5 microns. Scratches are allowed. Duplex stainless steel has the dual characteristics of high strength and high corrosion resistance. In addition, the excellent welding performance is praised as a fine steel. It is widely used in high-end manufacturing fields such as special construction, nuclear power, petroleum and petrochemical, and marine engineering.

In the construction of chemical tankers, this material can effectively meet the needs of a large variety of shipborne chemicals, and its high strength can also greatly reduce the weight of the hull and improve transportation efficiency. Compared with conventional duplex stainless steel, the marine duplex stainless steel has higher technical requirements and more difficult production due to the special processing technology and the use environment. The core technology has long been monopolized by a few foreign advanced enterprises. This time, Daming Heavy Industry teamed up with Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. to leverage the technological advantages of Taigang and the processing advantages of Daming Heavy Industries, and provide the shipyard with a “one-stop” service of “materials, parts and components – distribution” to process raw materials into shipyards. Specifications, shapes, shipyards only need to carry out the final assembly welding.

Wang Jian, general manager of Daming Heavy Industry, said that the quality requirements of stainless steel in welding, anti-deformation, anti-carburization, anti-surface scratching, polishing and pickling passivation are very high, and the technical difficulty is quite large, plus each ship. Thousands of parts and components are extremely large, which have brought tests to the material management, production site management and planning control of shipboard processing. In particular, the design of the stainless steel chemical tank trough bulkhead not only requires stability, but also requires enhanced bulkhead strength and rigidity, and corrosion resistance.

At the same time, the diversification of the source of shipboard materials and the difference in plate thickness of the ship's panel welding result in the difficulty of processing the chemical ship's ship's ship plate; the hull structure is special, the ship's plate width is super wide, the longitudinal seam is spliced, and the Ω type is Double Z type) Features such as one-time bending after welding, which puts higher requirements on the precision of the molded products.

In this regard, Daming Heavy Industry worked closely with many departments of Taigang to jointly develop a reasonable processing plan from cutting, planing, welding, bending and radiographic inspection (RT), relying on mature technology, rich experience and Advanced equipment, from the raw material to the cutting, edge cutting, welding, bending and welding to the weld flaw detection, each part of the inspection is precisely deployed to ensure the overall precision of the parts, so that the final product's prefabricated processing indicators are Meet the design requirements. Especially in the welding and bending process, Daming Heavy Industries relies on the core patent technology to weld the ship plates of different thicknesses and then bend them to ensure the overall precision of the chemical ship board. After the unremitting efforts of both parties, the prefabricated processing indicators of the products finally met the design requirements and won the recognition of ship owners and shipbuilding enterprises.

Over the years, Daming Heavy Industries has introduced advanced processing equipment from abroad, and has the welding capacity of large steel structures, dual-phase steel ship plates, container cylinders and precision sheet metal.
