Gas turbines are one of the main power sources in large passenger aircraft, special ships and civil power generation. The thermal efficiency of modern gas turbines has reached more than 42%, making it one of the most efficient power equipment. Among them, the core component turbine high temperature alloy blade is the main bottleneck restricting the development of China's gas turbine. Foreign countries are strictly confidential, and objectively make China's major aircraft, ground gas turbines and other major projects subject to people. In order to solve the above problems and promote the innovation and development of high-end manufacturing in Shanghai, in 2008, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission set up a special research project to carry out technical research and research on the most advanced F-class 256MW heavy-duty gas turbine turbine high-temperature blades in the world. The university is the main responsibility.
The principle of manufacturing turbine blades is to cast a nickel-based metal solution in a mold and then perform cooling and crystallization. The process is similar to the winter water vapor on the glass window to form a "ice flower" on the glass window. Whether the turbine blade can withstand high temperature, is there enough? The strength is related to the temperature during crystallization and the number and even direction of crystal formation.
The success of this project will not only help China to break through the foreign blockade in the key components of gas turbines, but also a major positive news for domestic power plants. Take the first-stage turbine of a heavy-duty gas turbine as an example. There are 96 high-temperature alloy blades. If the products of foreign manufacturers are used, the manufacturing cost of one blade is about 400,000 yuan, and the market price is 1 million yuan. The manufacturing cost is only about 100,000 yuan. Ren Zhongming, the head of the research group and a professor at the School of Materials and Engineering of Shanghai University, said that the company will continue to stabilize the relevant technical processes to meet the engineering requirements and cooperate with enterprises to achieve industrialization as soon as possible.
