China's mobile phone users exceeded 1 billion mark 73.6 per 100 people

According to the report of the Central People's Broadcasting Station, data from a domestic well-known market research company shows that Chinese mobile phone users exceeded the one billion mark yesterday. A statistical bulletin newly released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also shows that as of the end of 2011, China’s mobile phone penetration rate reached 73.6 units/hundred, up from 9.2 units per 100 people in 2010. The huge and still rapidly rising number of mobile phone users provides a market for business opportunities.

Xiang Ligang, a well-known observer of the telecommunications industry, believes that the number of 1 billion users means that it is almost three times that of North America and exceeds that of all European users. On the one hand, this shows that the development of China's communications industry has kept pace with the times. On the other hand, it also means that China's market is full of opportunities.
