Looking ahead, public welfare will be a central focus for Mr. Gou after retirement. On his 55th birthday, he mentioned that he is still three years away from his self-set retirement date. When asked about his future plans, he outlined three stages of life: working for money, working for ideals, and eventually working for interests. He is currently in the second stage, driven by purpose and vision. After retiring, he aims to channel his experience, skills, and resources into various public welfare projects, which he sees as the main direction of his future work. In addition to social causes, Foxconn is expanding into new industries. Having moved from the "3C" (computers, communications, and consumer electronics) sector, the company is now entering the automotive industry by manufacturing auto parts. However, Mr. Gou clarified that Foxconn will not become a vehicle manufacturer. Instead, it aims to play a significant role in the production of car components. Shenzhen’s strong industrial support and favorable environment make it a strategic location for this expansion.
