The 14th Annual Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show Saturday, August 6, 2011 Don’t forget to “Like†our new Facebook page: Facebook.com/ChicagolandEmergencyVehicleShow Get ready for the 14th annual Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This exciting event will take place in Mooseheart, IL — known as "The Child City" — located at Route 31 and Mooseheart Road, just north of North Aurora. Registration for vehicles starts at 8 a.m., and the show is open to the public from 10 a.m. onward. Admission is free, and there’s something for everyone with live demonstrations by local emergency services and public safety organizations. Check out our website for full event schedules, maps, and hotel information here. The event kicks off early with the Lights and Sirens Parade & Emergency Vehicle Cruise Night on Friday, August 5. Parade staging begins at 6:30 p.m. at Tinsletown Theater on Route 31 in North Aurora. The parade starts at 7 p.m. sharp and arrives at Clocktower Plaza to officially begin the North Aurora Days festival. Afterward, emergency vehicles will be staged in a safe area where attendees can enjoy a cruise night and explore the festival’s many attractions. On Sunday, August 7, join the Lights & Sirens Caravan to the Lake in the Hills Police Department for their annual Lights & Sirens Parade and National Night Out Against Crime Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. The escorted caravan leaves Clocktower Plaza at 9 a.m. and the LITH PD's parade starts at 10 a.m. At the end of the parade route, emergency vehicles will be displayed together at their Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. For the past three years, the Lake in the Hills Police Department has been an amazing host, even adjusting their schedule this year to accommodate our participation. This event supports their police Explorer program, and we always collect donations to help fund it.
