House fire in Park Ridge, 4-27-16

This is from Larry Shapiro: Just got word that the Park Ridge Fire Department was dispatched to 1205 Hoffman Avenue shortly after 7 PM on Wednesday evening (April 27, 2016), responding to reports of a house fire. When the first units arrived, they encountered heavy smoke billowing from the attic of a single-family home. Firefighters immediately initiated an interior attack. About ten minutes later, the incident was upgraded to a Code 4 status due to the intensity of the fire, which had begun to break through the roof. Fortunately, the blaze was brought under control fairly quickly, and mutual aid companies that hadn't yet arrived were released. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported. Units on the scene included Park Ridge Engines 35 & 36, Ambulances 35 & 36, along with Rescue and Battalion 36 and 3500. Mutual aid support came from Niles Ambulance and Tower 2, North Maine Engine and Battalion 1, Glenview Engine 7, Lincolnwood Ambulance 15, and Rosemont Truck 158. By the time I arrived, the fire was already under control. Here’s a look at some of the action shots: [Embedded images showcasing firefighting efforts, labeled with captions like “Pierce fire engine at fire scene,” “Smoke from house fire in Park Ridge,” and so on.] For more photos, visit [shapirophotography.net](http://shapirophotography.net). It was quite a scene, but everyone seemed to handle it professionally and efficiently. The firefighters did an impressive job containing the situation before it could escalate further. It's always good to see how prepared and coordinated these teams are when emergencies arise.
