House fire in Park Ridge, 4-27-16

Around 7 PM on Wednesday evening (April 27, 2016), Park Ridge firefighters were dispatched to 1205 Hoffman Avenue due to a reported house fire. When the first responding units arrived, they encountered significant smoke coming from the attic of a single-story home. They quickly initiated an internal firefighting operation. Approximately ten minutes later, the situation was escalated to a Code 4 status for an active fire as flames started to breach the roof. The fire was brought under control shortly afterward, and mutual aid teams that hadn’t yet arrived were sent back.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. Units involved in the incident included Park Ridge Engines 35 & 36, Ambulances 35 & 36, Rescue & Battalion 36 along with 3500. Mutual aid support came from Niles Ambulance and Tower 2, North Maine Engine and Battalion 1, Glenview Engine 7, Lincolnwood Ambulance 15, and Rosemont Truck 158.
By the time I got there, the fire was already under control.
