Thousands Experience the Future of Making Things at Autodesk University 2016

**Public Company Information:** **NASDAQ:** **ADSK** **LAS VEGAS – (BUSINESS WIRE) –** Autodesk University kicked off its annual flagship event today, drawing nearly 10,000 attendees to Las Vegas. The event serves as a platform for learning, networking, and exploring the future of design, engineering, and construction. Autodesk, a global leader in design software, is showcasing cutting-edge tools that are reshaping how buildings, products, and more are created and used. At this year’s conference, Autodesk is set to reveal new and enhanced technologies that empower users to bring their ideas to life with greater speed and precision. The company is also introducing a streamlined portfolio of cloud-based platforms aimed at simplifying workflows for designers, engineers, and creative professionals. “We’re fully committed to the cloud. Access to powerful computing resources and seamless collaboration tools are fundamentally changing how we approach design and engineering,” said Carl Bass, CEO of Autodesk. “The future of work is all about working smarter with technology.” During the keynote, Bass and CTO Jeff Kowalski will present a vision of a collaborative future where humans and computers work side by side to achieve groundbreaking results. Notable speakers include Anna Nixon, a high school student from Oregon competing in the First Robotics Competition, and Christian Benimana, Rwanda’s first trained architect and programs director for MASS Design Group. Throughout the week, attendees will have the chance to see how industry leaders are leveraging technologies like generative design, augmented reality, virtual reality, robotics, and additive manufacturing to push boundaries and innovate. Tomorrow, Amar Hanspal, Senior Vice President of Products, will dive deeper into Autodesk’s product roadmap, including updates to Fusion 360 and BIM 360. Additional details will be shared on the In The Fold blog. He will also highlight Forge, Autodesk’s developer platform, which has grown to over 4,000 applications since its launch. Forge continues to expand, with a focus on AR/VR and real-time rendering to enhance user experiences across industries. “With our shift to cloud services, our goal is to deliver maximum value to our customers and developers. We're building connected, on-demand experiences tailored to each industry, helping users access data, collaborate globally, and tap into Autodesk’s full suite of tools,” said Hanspal. Projects from companies like Briggs Automotive Company, Swinerton Builders, and JE Dunn Construction will demonstrate how cloud technologies are enabling new ways of working, testing innovative business models, and shaping the future of the industry. In addition to keynotes and hands-on classes, the event features dozens of interactive exhibits. These include live robotic 3D printing, a brick-laying robot, a generatively designed office building, an open-source 3D-printed drone, a VR experience for customizing a Ford Mustang, and AR-enabled hard hats for construction. While these innovations are expected to become mainstream in the next few years, they are already available for early adopters. The event wraps up with a performance by comedian Rob Corddry, followed by a closing keynote from Andrew Anagnost, SVP of Business Strategy and Marketing, who will summarize the key takeaways from the week. This year’s AU in Las Vegas is supported by Diamond sponsors HP, Dell, and Lenovo. **Autodesk University Reaches Customers Worldwide** Now in its 24th year, Autodesk University brings together over 25,000 participants across 15 countries through live events, while more than 2 million people engage online through free access to courses, webinars, and industry insights.
