Riverside Box Alarm 6-20-13

This is from Drew Gresik:

Here are a few photos from the recent Box Alarm at Riverside Fire Station on Northgate Road. When crews arrived, the fire was already in the basement with heavy smoke coming out of the chimney. Command assigned Engine 1621 to make entry and knock down the fire, while Truck 1629 handled roof ventilation. The fire was under control within about 20 minutes. Although there aren’t any shots of flames, there are some interesting images of the smoke patterns before the firefighters entered the home. Attached are several photos showing the responding units and the structure.

It's worth noting that Forest View Fire Department is currently using the Darien-Woodridge reserve engine labeled “Southwest United Fire Districts” because both of their own engines are out of service due to water damage from the record flood a month or so ago. Meanwhile, LaGrange has renumbered their old Pierce engine and still uses it for M/A calls.
