Nord, Jr. photo Rubber rollers are used because rubber has an elasticity that no metal can provide. Metal can corrode, scratch, dent and crack, which can happen easily and often. Additionally, the texture and hardness of metals can scratch and damage any medium they come into contact with. Other materials, such as fiber-reinforced composites, can offer better quality, but are more expensive and less readily available. They are not readily available and are usually more expensive. Rubber pulleys are the most economical method while offering longer pulley life and unique physical and psychomechanical properties Silicone Roller,Acid Resistance Roll,Textile Printing Roller,Wear Resistance Roll Taixing Jinlong Rubber Rollers Co., Ltd. , https://www.jinlongroller.com
Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire 5-2-11
Last night, Chicago Engine 99 was sent to what was initially thought to be a trash fire in the rear of 3401 S. Lawndale Avenue, a location known for having guard dogs. Upon arrival, Engine 99 discovered that the fire was actually inside the building and requested a full working fire response. Shortly after, the alarm was upgraded to a Box Alarm. Thick black smoke was visible from several blocks away, drawing attention from nearby residents and passersby.
Deputy District 4 (2-2-4) arrived on the scene and reported fire through the roof, prompting an escalation to a 2-11 alarm. The structure was an industrial brick building with a steel deck roof, making the fire particularly challenging to control. Firefighters deployed elevated master streams from Snorkel 1, Tower 5, and Tower 54, along with multiple 2½-inch hand lines to tackle the blaze.
Gordon J. Nord, Jr., who was in the area, noticed the smoke from a distance and arrived just as crews were cutting into the overhead doors to gain access. He captured a series of photos documenting the fire's progression and the firefighters' efforts to contain it.
