Bei Ben Heavy Duty Truck and South Korea's Hyundai negotiate commercial vehicle cooperation

Bei Ben Heavy is currently negotiating with South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Company on a commercial vehicle project. If negotiations are successful, the two parties will not rule out the possibility of establishing a commercial vehicle joint venture company.

In an interview with the Economic Observer Online, an official from Beiben Heavy and Gas confirmed that Beiqi Heavy was indeed interested in joining South Korea's Hyundai in future commercial vehicle projects, and the two sides have been in contact for some time. But so far no phased results have been made available to the outside world.

In fact, as early as the end of 2009, Beiben Heavy Duty Truck and South Korea Hyundai both signed a preliminary cooperation agreement in which the two parties intend to set up a joint venture company and set the goal of selling 100,000 heavy trucks in China in 2014.
Wang Shihong, General Manager of Beiben Heavy Duty Truck, recently disclosed to the media on the launch of the new product V3 heavy truck that the cooperation between Beijing Beiben and modern commercial vehicles is in contact. It is not the technology of modern commercial vehicles, but modernization. System integration, system and mechanism advantages. The cooperation with modern commercial vehicles will advance Beiben to meet the market demand.

After Beichen Heavy Duty Truck will launch the V3 heavy truck this year, it has been determined that the sales target for heavy truck products this year will be set at 40,000, and a new assembly line with a production capacity of 60,000 will be built at the same time, and the total production capacity will reach 100,000 by the end of the year.

Beiben Heavy Industries, whose product line is not perfect, is likely to cooperate with Hyundai Motor Co. in specific commercial vehicle products. As for the prospects for the joint venture between the two parties, it is still hard to say. It is reported that the cooperation with Beiben Heavy Duty is the third attempt to enter China's commercial vehicle sector following the failure of cooperation with JAC and GAC commercial vehicles.
