6 French new ships using hybrid propulsion system

Offshore Ship Designers has recently been selected as one of the six new fuel efficient seismic support/tracking vessels in the Bourbon design series in France. The vessel is built by the Grandweld Shipyard in Dubai.
The six new models of 53 meters long, 13 meters wide and 5.8 meters deep will use a fuel-efficient hybrid propulsion system that provides flexible propulsion solutions in different sea conditions with good operability. The hybrid propulsion system used on each ship mainly includes: 2 marine diesel propulsion main engines, 2 CPPs, 2 gearboxes equipped with PTI electric propulsion motors, 3 diesel-driven generator sets, and 2 electric-driven bow thrusters. .
When switching to operation, it adopts two main engine diesel mechanical modes with a speed of 11 knots; the tracking and low-speed operation adopts the diesel-electric mode and the speed is 6 knots.
