Rake thickener beneficiation plant is common enrichment equipment. According to different transmission modes, it is divided into two types: central drive and peripheral drive. The density of the thickeners produced in China below 24 meters is the center transmission type; the diameter of 24 meters or more is the peripheral transmission type. Due to the rigidity of the truss, the peripheral transmission type thickener can be made larger in diameter, and the largest in the country is Ñ„100 meters.
The picture below shows the center drive thickener. It consists of a thick pool 7, a truss 5, a transmission 2, a truss lifting device 3, a feeding device 4, a discharging device 9, and the like. The cylindrical dense pool 7 is made of cement or steel plate, and the bottom of the pool is flat or slightly conical. At the upper edge of the wall, there is an annular groove 6 for overflowing. The concentrated slurry needs to flow into the receiving cylinder 4 at the center of the pool along the feeding trough on the truss, and the lower portion of the receiving cylinder is submerged under the clear surface of the thick pool. A vertical shaft 8 is fixed in the center of the thick pool, and a cross-shaped truss 5 is fixed at the end of the shaft, and a scraper is arranged under the truss. The truss and the water surface are 80°~15°. The vertical axis is driven by the motor through a worm reducer. The concentrated material is discharged by the squeegee scraper into the discharge hopper 9 at the center of the pool, and the clarified overflow water overflows from the upper overflow tank 6.

In order to prevent the cruciform truss from being twisted when the thickener is under overload, the truss lifting device 3 can adjust the height of the truss and is also equipped with an overload signal.
The picture below shows the peripheral transmission thickener. It has a thick cylindrical reinforced concrete tank construction, which has a central column 1 in place of reinforced concrete rake axis, with a metal truss harrows end bracket 2 in the annular seat stay 1, and the other end A tractor 6 is mounted on the platform 5. The slurry enters the thickener along the feed trough 8 fixed on the bridge 7, and the concentrated material passes through the conical leaves from the periphery into the conical portion below the central funnel, and is then sent away by the sand pump.

Some large-scale concentrators in China use peripheral transmission thickeners. The main advantages of the thickener are simple structure, convenient operation, less power consumption, and high technical and economic indicators. The main disadvantage is the large footprint and is not suitable for concentrating coarse material larger than 0.3 mm.
